Advantages of
the 6"-12" center side rail hole:
- All forms are reversible. They may be laid down on their side, stacked or staggered.
- More suitable for forms in uneven heights such as 3, 5, 7 or 9-foot.
Durand
introduced the attached pin to aluminum forming in 1980. Today, it is job-proven as
a major, labor-saving innovation. Our competitors agree. Now, they have
responded. But, thanks to Durand's patented, stainless steel ball bearing design, none
match our smooth and easy operation or the ability to withstand both the abrasion and
blockage caused by rust from the pinshaft, grout, sand and ice. Durand pins are the most
widely used attached pins in the aluminum form industry.
Our attached
pins hold firm and straight while forms are aligned and connected. Every panel sets
faster and easier. When the forms are stripped from the wall, the attached pins
automatically semi-lock in the retracted position and will not slide through the form's
siderails when carried or transported. Durand forms with attached pins set and strip
a good 20% faster than any aluminum form with "loose" pins, or, 25% to 30%
faster than any 1/8" plywood form with locking levers.
Durand
"brick" textured panels or V.I.P. (Vertical Interchangeable Pattern) panels,
36"x96", weigh 78 pounds each. That's 10 pounds lighter than a 50%
smaller, 24"x96" cast aluminum "brick" form. (In a 200 foot set, for
example, there's a weight savings of about 3 tons!) What's more, there are 33% fewer
panels, ties, pins, wedges and water brackets to contend with. Regarding form life,
all-welded Durand forms are capable of many years of service and are not subject to
cracking common to castings.
